Moody's Investors Service downgraded American Achievement Group Holding Corp.'s $176 million (current value) senior PIK notes due 2012, to Caa2 (LGD5, 87%) from Caa1 (LGD5, 89%). Moody's also downgraded subsidiary AAC Group Holding Corp.'s $118 million (current value) senior discount notes due 2012, to Caa1 (LGD4, 63%) from B3 (LGD4, 69%). All entities are collectively referred to as "AAC." The rating action was prompted by AAC's weak credit metrics for the ratings category.
